Overview

OUTLINE


Class 1 OH&S Issues + materials and tools + Monoprint exercise

Class 2 Stencil + collograph exercise

Class 3 Linocut printing 1

Class 4 Linocut printing 2

Class 5 Woodcut printing 1

Class 6 Woodcut printing 2

Class 7 Photoshop - scanning prints and using image manipulation tools

Class 8 Storing, archiving, presenting your prints

Class 9 Class Presentations of your work - critical feedback session

What you have to hand in at the end of course is:

•  Prepare a plan drawing of print workshop noting potential OH&S hazards and safety features re dangerous materials, chemicals, ventilations, tools, washup, storage.
• Present 4 completed prints (1 monoprint, 1 linocut, 1 woodcut, 1 digitally manipulated print) that demonstrate your use of printing and digital techniques.
All prints must be handed in a folder or storage box and correctly labeled on the back in pencil. Prints must be separated by sheets of tissue paper.

Competency and Performance Criteria

  1. Prepare and maintain resources for the production of art prints.
  2. Explore printmaking techniques to plan work.
  3. Realise prints.
  4. Storage and archiving of prints
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of OH&S safety procedures, potential hazards and risks.

 

Assessment

Demonstrate competency in production of art prints – techniques and technology used to produce images. Use of design principles to realise concept.

Evaluation of visual language and technical execution of ideas used to realise concepts.

Method of assessment – review in class presentation and by written feedback of completed prints and workbook of concept development for each print.
